I feel like the link-up queen this week...between the Book Club, That Time of the Month, and now Race Recaps, it's all come up at once! Good thing I'm social!

Anyways, because this is a Race Recap link-up, let's talk racing!

Yesterday, I was shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond to pick up some Fresh Wave. I made a blueberry pie over the weekend and it erupted all over my oven. Now my house smells like burnt blueberry pie. Have you ever used Fresh Wave? It's a natural odor remover, and I highly recommend it. I'm not receiving compensation for this, I just really like the product. I used Fresh Wave in the past when my dog was skunked.

Stay with me. I'm getting to the point.

While I was there, I mosied around the store. Bed Bath and Beyond always has lots of interesting things. I always find something that I just can't live without. Does that happen to you? I never leave with just what I came for. It's like going to Target.

I saw some items that might come in handy for race day. I'm always thinking about improving life on the run. Tell me what you think.

Have you ever been out for a run and there's nowhere "to go"? No need to pee on yourself anymore. The Travel John Disposable Urinal is a "unisex, portable urinal" that contains a polymer gel which "absorbs liquid waste and turns it into odorless, spill proof gel". Who knew there was such a product? Now you all know! I wonder if it will fit in my HiP ZiPP?

Full disclosure: I'm an ambassador for SLS3 Compression, and I'm only supposed to promote their products. But how could I resist these Zip Sox? Many of us struggle pulling on compression socks--well, say no more to sweating before the workout if you use these! No more throbbing calves. If you order now, you can get a second pair, free! They come in nude, if you are self conscious about wearing compression socks. Otherwise, they come in black.

The Enduracool multi-cool headband would sure come in handy for these steamy hot days. Heck, if I had been wearing this on Sunday, I probably could have cruised through my 12 miles easily! The company's website has testimonials from famous athletes, so maybe I should have picked one of these up. Comes in multiple colors.

Are you running Ragnar or any 24 hour ultras? Or, like me, do you get up before the sun to train? Then you need these HD Night Vision Glasses. Limited time offer on the website, you get 2 pair for $10! That's right! These wrap around glasses will help you see better at night. They're HD, so no worries about tripping over the cracks in the sidewalk or falling into a pothole.

Bling, schming. Who needs bling? I've got some body bling for you. These Hot Jewels metallic tattoos are just the accessory you need for your next Princess Race. Forget the tutu...you want to bedazzle yourself. Be creative and make designs on your arms! And if you are a extra sweaty runner like me, no worries. The Hot Jewels are water resistant! Yep, triathletes, these are for you too!

Finally, if you don't feel like running, but you want to slim down, there's always this: the Tummy Tuck miracle slimming system. You can combine the device with exercise OR do nothing. And after 30 days, the tummy tuck slims away belly fat. Pretty amazing, if you ask me. So why would you combine this with exercise? Bring on the Ben and Jerry's!

There you have it. Any items that you've come across that might come in handy come race day? Have you ever tried any of these products? No need to thank me for this--it's a service I'm happy to provide! :)

  2. LOL I feel the same way about Bed Bath and Beyond. It doesnt help that I can literally walk from my house to that store. When I know I have to go in there, I make a list so that I dont go overboard buying more items haha.

  3. hahahahahahah this is awesome. I need all of these things. And the underwear things for everyday life, because why would I want to use the toilet?

  4. Oh damn now I need me some HOT JEWELS!

My mom got me something called a "Go Girl" for Christmas one year and she was sooooo pleased with herself. It was like a little cardboard funnel to pee into when you're literally on the run. It was absolutely disgusting, I would never do that! Plus she knows I brag about being able to pee practically anywhere because I don't even have to pull down my shorts, just slide the crotch to the side. Oh the things you learn trail running!

    1. We talked about that peeing thing, not needing to pull down the shorts, when we were kayaking on Friday! One of my friends had never heard of that!

    2. We saw the Go Girl stand at a concert and thought it was for some kind of race! Ha ha were we surprised! The Go Girl is dishwasher safe. Ewe!

    3. Oh, that's great! You can wash it with your dishes?

  5. OMG, so many fun things at BBB! I had no idea that travel John existed. I would be a bit hesitant to use that!

  6. Um, I'm going to need to check out these portable toilet thingys... :)

  7. That Travel John is a great invention! I can't even count the number of times I spent too much time waiting in the start corrals, began to feel the need to go, but couldn't exit. The Zip sox is a fantastic idea, too. It is so difficult to get compression socks on - I feel like I am going to strain my calf or foot muscles sometimes!!!

  8. What interesting finds! I'm wary of the portable bathroom and the tummy tuck thing, but the tattoos and enduracool are neat!

  9. So fun haha. Those hot jewels look fun for summer parties and trips. Um, does those sunglasses actually do anything? I make fun that infomericla!

  10. DUDE, I need that tummy slimming system!!! And the portable urinal!!! This would have SOOOO come in handy a few times for my marathon training last spring, LOL!

  11. I should go shopping with you, you find all the good things! I think I need that headband, although I ran in 47 degree weather this morning so I wouldn't have needed it today.

  12. I wondered about those zip compression sleeves/socks...
I tried those sunglasses - they didn't work for me :( But I have weird eyes anyways

  13. Thanks for the head's up on the Fresh Wave - my husband was just saying he needed to Febreeze his car because our sweaty runner's bodies are leaving it smelling rather funky.

    1. Oh, they have little packs of Fresh Wave you could put under the seat!

  14. Haha this is so funny! I get such a kick out of all the random stuff at Bed Bath and Beyond and Target. I seriously should try some FreshWave for my car - between hiking and running it smells like a boy's locker room. And that's before you add in a puggle...

    1. The Fresh Wave comes in handy little packs! You could just throw them under the seat.

  15. Haha, this is funny. The portable urinal...makes sense, I mean that's what diapers are aren't they? They turn the wet into a gel like material. Genius! Not so sure I would carry one around though. I've seen those cool wraps though, they do look pretty awesome!

  17. LOL! you had a big time at Bed, Bath and Beyond- I need to get by one of the stores! the cool wrap does look pretty awesome! The travel John is the topper though! Who comes up with this stuff?

    ReplyDelete
  18. You clearly have way more patience than I do in that store. I love it, but it's so overwhelming to me. But, I realize there are so many great things that I need to start looking around for! And I'm pretty sure I'm going to go find that cool wrap..

  20. I agree..I think it would be easier ducking behind a bush!

  21. I want some of those Hot Jewels!!! Those would be way more fun for bodymarking than permanent marker ;) Can't say I would put too much faith in that slimming device though. haha.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Bahha I love all of the fun items you found! I Definitely need that tummy tuck ;)

    ReplyDelete
  23. The head wrap thing.... I was actually at b,b,b yesterday returning something and saw it....and I thought about it but didn't get it.
As for the urinal that turns your pee into a gel....then what do you do...carry it around with you until you find a trash? If I'm that desperate, I'll just find a place to hide and pee.

    1. See, I wasn't the only one thinking about that head wrap. The pee thing? I'm not so sure how handy it really is.

    1. I totally thought of you and the other Princess runners when I saw the bling! Isn't it fun?

  28. Hmm, the Travel John looks interesting???? I did see the Enduracool headband and thought about buying it. But then I was on my way out and was too lazy to get back in line. Maybe next time.

    1. That happened to me. Plus I think my husband would have made total fun of me if I came home with that headband. Sigh.

  29. Love it! Never thought of Bed Bath & Beyond as a place to prep for a race but clearly they've got all we need. :)

  30. did you buy the disposable urinal ? What a great idea ! I had never seen that ...

    ReplyDelete
  31. Oh my goodness! I didn't know travel johns were a thing!!

    ReplyDelete
  32. OK, do you notice the smell when you go into BB&B? I go there fairly regularly for coffee ('cause I have a coupon!). The smell almost knocks me over as I walk in the door. SO OVERWHELMING. I can only spend about 5-10 in the stores before my eyes and throat are burning and I have to get out! And, yes, people buy those products!

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. I don't notice any smells when I go there, which is surprising because I'm really sensitive to smells! But I do get sensory overload there--so much merchandise!

  33. omg I had no idea about any of these products. Wait so that portable porta john thing...if you pee in it do you then have to carry it around? Or is it biodegradable? I would have never even thought to invent such a thing lol. I like the idea of the zip up compression socks too!

    1. Someone pointed out that the porta john device is probably like a diaper--it has the absorbent gel inside. I think after use, you would just throw it away? LOL
