As much as we might not like to admit it running does take a toll physically and we go through cycles, our bodies need rest. I plan to take these next 2 weeks off of running as well and do other non impact cardio. You can do it! I'm feeling the itch to run (it too is my major stress reliever).. but I'm trying to hold off until the beginning of the year. I want to give it a good 4 weeks of no running since I've struggled since Sept with the issue. I"m about ready (gasp) for the dr route.. but we'll see what rest does. So here comes spin class ;) I plan to go tomorrow. It isn't running.. but.. well I at least sweat. Hang in there... we'll be hitting the streets soon! Now i'm being forced to rest because of illness and not injury and THAT is killing me. I just want to run! You NEED to take the break and it will allow you to be that much less stressed when you are allowed to again! I commend you for taking a break. I may need one too, probably more mental than physical. Something is wrong if you think "I need to run" instead of "I want to run".
