And I'm ok with that. Usually instead of being at the race, he's carting a kid some place or another (game, practice, etc). So that frees me up to race. In addition, I go to almost all my races with a pack of friends so I'm never alone. If I were to express to him that I really wanted him there for a particularly special race, I know he'd come. I guess in whole, most of my races just aren't such a big deal to me anymore! I'm glad you're at peace with where you are in this situation.misszippyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16816276167373260149noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2647157930116406632.post-64128705011192435802014-03-27T06:44:43.352-05:002014-03-27T06:44:43.352-05:00We've been married for 25 years...I didn't...We've been married for 25 years...I didn't run when we first met, so I'm ok with him not being active. You're lucky to have such a supportive spouse! And I can't wait to hear all about your destination race!Wendy at Taking the Long Way Homehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09934786207724059919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2647157930116406632.post-61946671308446322722014-03-26T17:27:04.765-05:002014-03-26T17:27:04.765-05:00What a great post. My hubby and I met at a marathon training clinic and I am ETERNALLY grateful for him and everything he does to support me. He comes out to all my races, even though I tell him he doesn't need to. He knows I like it when he's there so that's what he does for me. Now all of a sudden on a whim he signed up for Fox Valley half. I truly believe he does it to make me happy and it does. However, running is my ME time...so he will have to accept running with me during OUR time. I will be coaching him and crossing the finish line with him for FVM and I am proud of him.
