Let's have some Friday Fun! Have you heard of the saying "it's all fun and games"? I've got a few running related ones. Don't we all love running?
It's all fun and games...until you have to take a shower and find where you chafed
It's all fun and games...until you pause your Garmin and forget to hit restart when you begin to run again
It's all fun and games....until your phone runs out of charge and your music dies
It's all fun and games...until you use the portapotty and it's out of paper
It's all fun and games...until you trip over a crack in the sidewalk
It's all fun and games...until you inhale a mouthful of gnats

It's all fun and games...until your metabolism slows down
Running. It's all fun and games...Am I right? This is my reality right now. Have any to add?
I'm linking up with Fairytales and Fitness and Running on Happy for the Friday Five. Have a fabulous weekend!
This post made me LOL because I can relate to every last scenario! I once had my iPod die at mile 2 of a 10 mile race and I literally wanted to scream!!
ReplyDeleteSeriously, how did you ever finish? :p
DeleteThese all are so true! Thanks for the Friday Funny ;-)
ReplyDeleteIt's a service I provide!
DeleteSo true! I've had most of these happen to me! lol
ReplyDeleteSad but true...
DeleteThese are perfect! I was nodding my head at each of them. Especially turning off the Garmin then forgetting to start it again! I do that way too frequently.
ReplyDeleteMe too! Especially when I stop to take my photos. Doh!
DeleteHa - I love this! I think I've had every one of those happen to me. It's all fun and games until you realise the new gel you were looking forward to is REVOLTING is the only one I can add.
ReplyDeleteGaaack! Ewwww!
DeleteI can honestly still taste the Gu Salted Caramel gel and I had that training in 2016! I love Gu gels. I love salted caramel, what could go wrong? Huk huk huk.
DeleteAnd people rave about that flavor. I think it would get stuck in my throat...blech!
DeleteIt's all fun and games until your blog gets hacked and you can't even log in ... oh, that's for a different post. :-) These are great.
ReplyDeleteIt's all fun and games until you realize these ARE the shorts that ride up.
Or the skirt that never chafed before is tearing up your nether regions!
DeleteHilarious! And so relatable. I just experienced the shower one yesterday. Yikes, did that ever sting!!!
ReplyDeleteYesterday, I found dry, healing chafing on my thighs...I never even realized I chafed originally!
DeleteThis is too funny, yet so true! The other night I forgot to turn on my watch during my spin class. Guess it didn't happen??? haha
ReplyDeleteMy watch won't even time the rower properly! If I enter the time manually, does it count?
DeleteAll of the sudden I am having lots of bra chafing! Why?? Ouch
ReplyDeleteSometimes when I change my stride or am having a tough run, things shift and I experience new soreness or new chafing. That's all I can think of! Ouch is right!
DeleteHAHAHA! I definitely have experienced the chaffing one! Owwwwwy. It's all fun and games until... you get home from a hot, sweaty run and you're soooo thirsty and you realized your husband locked you out and he's in the shower and you have to go bang on the bathroom window. This has happened to me twice. :)
ReplyDeleteOh, that's the worst! A few times last winter our garage door wouldn't open. I had to call my son out of school to come home and let me in the house!
DeleteIt's all fun & games until you realize you got your Garmin ready & forgot to hit start!
ReplyDeleteIt's all fun & games until you realize your cute skirt is up in your top & you've been flashing everyone for mikes -- but at least there are shorties under your skirt. :)
Fun topic, Wendy!
It's all fun and games until you start your Garmin after a pause, and the darn thing doesn't pick up the mileage after that.
ReplyDeleteI haven't had that happen! Yikes!
DeleteThis is great and all so true!
ReplyDeleteAm I right?
Delete...until you return home from running and glance in the mirror only to realize that paper towel you used to wipe your sweaty face stuck to it like paper mache and you chatted it up with a neighbor oblivious to the fact...
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! I haven't had that problem but I could see it happening.
DeleteThis is hysterical!!! I loved this post. All of these are so true. The one about chafing and the shower . . . ahhh!
ReplyDeleteOh, that is the worst!
DeleteIt's 100 degrees and you left your water in your car.
ReplyDeleteYou plan to run after work and forgot your socks.
You get a bloody nose in the middle of a race and have no tissues.
You sign up for a half marathon, buy your non-refundable plane tix and the race is cancelled.
All of the above is truth :(
Yep, I figured you'd have a few! The water in the car happens to me all the time!
DeleteYes, yes, yes, and yes!! LOL!!
ReplyDeleteIt's all fun and games until you're trying to come back after a 10 week injury break.
ReplyDeleteOh, that's not one bit fun...
DeleteThat will be me . . . after (best case) three months :(
DeleteAll so funny and so true! Thanks for the giggle I need one today ;)
ReplyDeleteDon't we all? LOL!
DeleteThese are all so true! I really hate the shower chafing one, ouch.
ReplyDeleteThat is a rough one!
DeleteIt's all fun and games until you either confirm you are too slow or that it's time to buy a new Garmin when the Low Battery signal goes on with 4 miles to go in a marathon!
ReplyDeleteMy old Garmin could only hold a charge for 4 hours, so it never made it to the finish line in any of my marathons!
DeleteI about cried when my Garmin died halfway through a long run!
DeleteOh my goodness DYING!! Too funny yet oh so true.
ReplyDeleteSad but true, right?!
DeleteHahahaha! After a crazy week, I needed a good laugh!! These are great and so true! Shathiso @www.thegaboronerunner.com
ReplyDeleteThe Gnats!! I hate a mouthful the other day! it was not ok.
ReplyDeleteIt's all fun and games until...SNAKE.
ReplyDeleteI just nodded through this whole post! So much truth!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the little laugh :)
Agree, agree, agree! It's all fun and games...until you ignore an injury and can't run anymore :(
