Product Review: Sudio ETT Noise Cancelling Earbuds

Disclaimer: I received a pair of Sudio ETT earbuds from Sudio in exchange for my honest review.

My love of music is no secret to anyone who knows me. I grew up with an appreciation for good music of any genre. When I listen to music, I want the delivery of sound to be the highest quality. One of the reasons I like to run alone is the ability to lose myself in the rhythm of my feet, moving along the path to the beat of the songs playing in my ears. When it all comes together--a good song accompanying a comfortable run--there is really nothing closer to perfection.

Recently, I had the opportunity to trial Sudio ETT earbuds. Sudio is a Swedish audio company that makes speakers and earbuds. On the company website, Sudio promises "that if getting lost in the music is all that matters, Sudio is for you."  These sound like they were made for me!

The ETT is the latest entry in a line of earbuds offered by Sudio. There are 4 colors to choose from: white, black, green, and pink. I selected white. The earbuds come in a charging case with a leather lanyard attached. I plugged the charging case in and within about a hour, the earbuds were completely charged. Sudio promises up to 6 hours of charge time with a single charge.

Pairing the earbuds with my phone was easy. I simply removed one of the earbuds from the case and my bluetooth quickly connected with them. There is an LED indicator on the earbud that flashes when the pairing is complete. From there, I was ready to go.

Once I finished setting them up, I tested out the sound quality, listening to a variety of different music. I gave them what I like to call the "Pink Floyd" test, listening to Dark Side of the Moon. I was impressed by the sound quality but would have liked a little more bass. Because I'm all about that.

The next day, I took them on the road. The Sudio ETT are made with IPX5 technology, which means they are waterproof and sweatproof. The real test would be if I could keep them in my ears while I ran. On my first run with them, I didn't have them fitted right and the sound quality was poor. Fortunately, the Sudio ETT comes with an assortment of ear tips in different sizes. The next time I ran with them, I tried different ear tips and that time, the ear buds stayed in well. My music sounded good. A few times during the run, I had to readjust the ear buds when came loose and started to jiggle around. I'll continue to play with the fit until I get it right.

There's a power button on the end of the buds and the first time I used the Sudio ETTs, I accidently hit it a few times, pausing the music. It was easy to hit it again and restart it. I later learned that hitting that button twice advances to the next song, which is super handy when you want to fast forward the music. Three clicks rewinds the song and holding it for 2 seconds turns off active noise canceling (ANC). Yes, the Sudio ETT has noise canceling capabilities which honestly, I haven't tested out. When I use these earbuds during my runs, I keep the volume low so I can hear outside noise.

Overall, I like the Sudio ETT earbuds. Since receiving them, I've worn them multiple times on my runs--the longest was for a 10 mile run and they performed well. The sleek design is really attractive--I was so impressed with how they looked when I opened the box! The sound quality is good, even better if you sit the buds correctly in your ears. Audiophiles might not agree, but for most of us, the Sudio ETT are a great alternative to the pricey AirPods. I think these will be great for cold weather running, when I can pull a headband or hat over my ears and not have to deal with the wrap around band of the TrekzAir or wires from my Apple headphones.

  1. These earbuds look interesting, Wendy. I really like the design.
So handy that they can be touching the end of the buds, too!

I clicked the links to see the price, but it led me to a an "empty page" of your blog. Not sure if it's only me or if the links are faulty.

    1. Thank you for telling me that! I fixed the links. Blogger changed their interface and it's a challenge to insert links. Let me know what you think about the earbuds!

  2. I've never heard of this brand before but I love the look of these, and also that they are waterproof and sweatproof - I sweat SO much, even in the Winter, lol.

    1. I sweat a ton and have trouble keeping earbuds in my ears. These stayed in nicely and that was a pleasant surprise.

  3. If I listened to anything when I run, these would be very intriguing. But alas, I was a professional musician for way too long and will run to the tempo of whatever is playing. Also I love getting lost in the scenery!

    1. I don't listen to music when I'm on the trails--there's too much to see and I need to be alert. But on the road? Yes!

  4. It is nice to have a lesser priced option the airpods. Early in the pandemic I lost one of mine while running I was so upset! It's great that these come with multiple sized ear fittings. Thanks for the review

  5. These sound great! I have never been able to find earbuds that stay in my ears. I love my Aftershokz but it definitely gets tricky wearing them in the winter with a hat or headband!

    1. I'm looking forward to using these in the cooler weather for that reason!

  6. I like the look of these and like your idea as an alternative from wrap-around headphones during the winter. As Lisa said, I love my Aftershokz but trying to wear a hat with them during the winter drives me crazy!

  7. These look like a nice option for music-on-the-run (Not that I've done that in awhile LOL).

  8. Very cool! I hadn't seen these. I have really small ears so I'd worry about having issues with this style, but I'm glad to hear they're working for you!

  9. Haha, I never listen to a song when trying out new headphones! Luckily Mr. Judy got me a good deal on airpods, but my older (used) iphone has a weird quirk where it will only stay connected to bluetooth if the phone is at chest level. So I still don't listen to anything on the run.

These do sound like a great alternative.

  10. Thanks for your review. I had never heard of these. I checked out the website and like the TOLV and TOLV R. I have the Airpods and like to use mine for running and for work.

I also enjoy listening to music-80s and 90s is my favorite!

  11. Thanks for sharing! I have never heard of these, and I love all the colors! I don't really run or walk with music anymore, so I haven't paid much attention to ear buds or headphones, but it's good to keep in mind!

  12. Thanks for your review. I don't usually listen to music, I listen to books so the sound quality isn't as important. What is important is that they don't feel like they're falling out, so it's good to know these meet my needs.

  13. I typically don't listen to music, but I like headphones for podcasts on walks. These look like they would fit comfortably with a hat!
