EMPOWER Summer Camp: The Swag!

Disclaimer: I received a paid invitation to attend EMPOWER Summer Camp from SweatPink/FitApproach in exchange for social media postings. As an attendee, I received free swag from NowFoodsAfterShokzGreatLakesGelatinTakeyaUSAJadeLeafMatchaGrassFedCoffeeMomentumJewelryGimmeGramsThinkNooArtisanTropicLoveSujaGoodr, and MyDandies. While I will mention a few specific products in this post, I'll be sharing reviews of all those wonderful gifts in a separate post. All my opinions are my own.

While the best part of camp (did you read my recap?), for me at least, was the activities and the connections I made with other fitness-minded women, I can't deny that I was kind of wowed by all the goodies I came home with! Part of the deal of going to this camp was to share our appreciation for the sponsors via social media. It wasn't hard to do. Jamie, Alyse, and Nic did a great job of incorporating the sponsored products into all our activities.

I wanted to share all the goodies we got at camp in this separate post. Kind of a mini-review with the hopes that blog readers would enjoy hearing about a few more adventures. I've hyperlinked the sponsors' Instagram accounts so you can learn more about their products. I've also included a few discount codes that were provided by the companies.

Now Foods provided an entire bag of goodies as well as snacks, smoothie ingredients, and toiletries for the weekend. We received BCAA powder as well as Ribose, which we were able to sample at Kasey's HIIT workout. Upon returning home, I mixed up a bottle of the watermelon flavor, added the Ribose, and drank it prior to my 5k on Tuesday night. I credit the products with getting me to the finish line at what was a hot, humid evening. BCAA (Branched Chain Amino Acids) are a great fuel during intense exercise and can help with recovery. Ribose provides energy for all the muscles during exercise. I also received a container of chocolate-flavored pea protein powder, which has gone into my smoothies (yum!) and other nutritional products, including a bag of raw energy nut mix--quickly becoming a favorite with me and my hubs. Can I just say that I've eaten it all week?

The toiletries provided by Now Foods are pure and natural and are not tested on animals. There was a variety of products available including shampoo and conditioner, cocoa butter body cream, lavender deodorant, xylitol toothpaste, arnica gel, insect repellant, and skincare oils. I liked all the products I tried and look forward to using more items from NowFoods!

AfterShokz very generously provided each camper with a pair of AfterShokz TrekzAir bone-conducting wireless headphones. Having used AfterShokz for the past 2 years, I can honestly say these are my favorite headphones for running. I love how light they are on my ears. I love that they are wireless. I love how they sound. I especially love that I can hear ambient noise around me. The Air are lighter than the TrekzTitanium that I own.

Each camper received a Takeya 24 ounce insulated aluminum water bottle and a string backpack at the first yoga class. I used my water bottle all weekend, refilling it frequently as we sweated a lot! I already own a Takeya 20 ounce bottle and I love it. I use mine at work so that I can stay hydrated all day. The water stays cold. My husband has one too! Takeya bottles come in a variety of sizes and colors.

Great Lakes Gelatin provided packets of collagen hydrolysate (a perpetual favorite of mine!) throughout the weekend. Regular readers of the blog know how much I love my GLG! I stir it into my coffee every morning. Not only do I have really strong nails and hair, but my GI issues have also pretty much disappeared. I'm hoping that the collagen will also help my joints.

I do love Goodr sunglasses and was thrilled to add another pair to my collection. Each camper received a pair in their swag bag. Mine were white, which was such a fun color to receive! I wore them all weekend. No coupon code because Goodrs are already a bargain at $25. They are polarized and UV protective.

Ready to run and looking cool in my new Goodrs at this week's evening 5k
Recap to come.
Crafting my own Momentum Wrap was one of the highlights of camp for me. I love my Momentum wraps--I wear one to work every day to remind me to be my very best. The only problem I had was to decide on what I wanted my wrap to say! I had time to consider it while I waited. There were just two workstations. By the time it was my turn, I settled on 'Be Amazing Today'. Because, yes.

We all received packets of Jade Leaf Matcha fruit snacks and matcha latte infusion sticks, which can be mixed into milk for a tasty drink. I'm a big fan of matcha green tea--it's an amazing anti-inflammatory pick me up--and I'm excited to find a new source of my favorite product! The fruit snacks are delicious and would be a great snack for work.

I picked up a few bags of Artisan Tropic Cassava strips (they're more like chips) in addition to the ones I received in my swag bag. What a yummy alternative to potato chips. I've seen them at Whole Foods, TJMaxx, and Marshalls. Now I know how good they are!

In our swag bags was a jar of ThinkNoo capsules. ThinkNoo bills itself as a 'smarter coffee experience' promising energy, focus, and flow. There's no caffeine, just a combination of herbs and vitamins to help you get more out of your morning coffee. I didn't try it yet. If you have, let me know what you think!

Try ThinkNoo and save 10% with the code COFFEE.

Bob's Red Mill provided oatmeal packs and bars for the campers. I love Bob's Red Mill products and use a lot of them in my home.
There were boxes of Grass Fed Coffee post-run on Saturday. Keto lovers, rejoice! There's butter in it.

Suja provided kombucha and juice for happy hour as well as water bottles and towels for the swag bags.

GimmeHealth provided GimmeGrams, gluten-free graham crackers and Dandies provided vegan marshmallows for our s'mores. So yummy! GimmeHealth also provided GimmeSnacks organic roasted seaweed crisps. I tried them--they taste like how you'd expect seaweed to taste and definitely will take some getting used to!

Vegan marshmallows from Dandies! They melt just like the real thing! Taste like it too.
GimmeGrams were yum!

Have you tried any of these brands? What products do you want to try? I'm urging you to head over to NOW Foods and check out the amazing array of wellness products. Have you ever tried BCAA and/or ribose?

I'm linking up with Kim and Zenaida for Tuesday Topics.

  1. For some reason my comment on your Sunday post did not post. Weird. Anyway, I will try again here. Love your recap and enjoyed seeing all of your pictures. Looks like so much fun. I've never been to an adult summer camp and wish I could have gone this year and meet so many wonderful people.

Love, love the swag!! So many great things. I have used many of these products. My favorite are the ones from NOW Foods. I am going to check out the Takeya water bottle since one can never have too many of them.

  2. Look at all of that swag! You know I'm a huge fan of Great Lakes Gelatin. I've also used a few NOW products, but not many of their skincare items. I'll have to check those out. Thanks so much for all the discount codes!

  3. Nice swag!! I haven't heard of Takeya water bottles - I love their colors! Hmmm, maybe when I get back to working out and breaking a sweat, I'll reward myself with one...seems like a good gift for making it through a herniated disc, no?

    1. It might be a good gift for recovering from the herniated disc too, just saying!

  4. Wow you sure did rake in the goodies! I actually have never tried any of the Now products yet. I am intrigued by the BCAA's but have not tried them yet. Now I really have FOMO!

    1. My son and I have been fueling with the BCAAs and Ribose before hard workouts. Dare I say that it might be a thing?

    1. That's too bad you don't have NOWFoods in Italy. I think they have them in Greece?

  6. I looked up those marshmallows from Marcia's post because I didn't know there was such a thing. I'm not big on s'mores but theirs look pretty good.
I just bought a white pair of the Goodrs. Can't beat the price!
Do sunglasses fit okay with those AfterShox? My Jaybirds are giving me grief and am looking for something to replace them.

  7. Great SWAG!
    Love Bob Red Mill stuff
Need to look into the Air - I love Bluez2S but they're wearing a bit much on the top of my ears so maybe lighter will be better

    1. I've loved the TrekzTitanium--the Air are great too. You can't go wrong with either one!

    2. Is it the Air you felt was lighter, or both were lighter than other ones you wore? I love the Bluez, it's mostly just the hat, glasses, headphones "weight"

    3. The Air are lighter than the TrekzTitanium but the difference is subtle. They're both really light and I don't notice either of them when I run.

  8. Amazing swag! Just wow! I love the Now Foods products I've tried so far but have not tried the BCAAs yes. Definitely want to give them a shot. Thanks so much for sharing all of the discount codes!

  9. I love my Trekz Air! They're light and feel better on my head than my old Trekz Titanium (which I still love too). I'm also a Goodr fan (and I have a stack of them to prove it!). I received a Takeya bottle at Blogfest a couple years ago and I still carry it with me everywhere. It even keeps my water cold here in the desert.

  10. Oh my gosh the swag was so awesome. I was most excited about the Trekz Air. I had the older model and the newer one is so much lighter. I don't even feel them on. I loved the Goodrs and Momentum bracelet too! Who am I kidding, I love it all. ;)

  12. So much goodness! I seriously wonder how Trekz stays in business cause they always seem to give away their products. :)

ThinkNoo sounds very interesting (never heard of it). Thanks for sharing all the swag, Wendy!
