10 Unique Holiday Gifts for the Runner in Your Life and Links to Other Gift Lists

HOHOHO! I'm hosting a Holiday Fitness Gift Guide Linkup now through December 24. Please feel free to link up your gift guides all month long! Excited to see what everyone is sharing.
Fine Print: Fitness related gift guides only, please. All others will be removed.

'Tis the season to be shopping...and running...

Pretty much all I want for Christmas is running stuff. I think I'm easy to shop for, but oddly enough, I rarely receive anything running related. It's as if my family and friends don't even know me. If only they read my blog...

This year I got smart and started shopping early! Maybe I've even already bought myself a thing or two off my list. Maybe I've received some of these things as gifts! Maybe you'll find something you want. All I have to say is---I love everything on this list!

RunInk marathon map or mug
RunInk Designs makes marathon memorabilia from many of the most popular marathons. One of my favorite souvenirs--yes, I bought them for myself--are my marathon maps from Chicago and Big Sur with my finish times printed on them. RunInk also offers mugs, ornaments, and other gifts.

Rotibox Bluetooth Beanie or Headband
I love listening to music on my solo runs. I've shared my love for my AfterShokz Air (another great gift idea!), but full disclosure, the Air doesn't work so well for me when I have to wear a hat or a headband. The next best thing is this Rotibox Bluetooth Beanie or Headband. Pure genius, if you ask me. I was going to put it on my holiday list, but there was a discount code and yes, I had to have it. Since I received it, I have been running with the headband and I absolutely love it. Pairing the device to my iPhone was easy. Right now, between the headbands and the beanies, there are 48 different options to choose from. Keep an eye out for deals, especially on Black Friday. I am because I want a beanie too.

Yes, this is me and yes, I love this Bluetooth headband!
Warm and Wireless!
notes to self socks
Last spring, I was feeling pretty low. I was stuck in an RA flare and running was a struggle. I received a pair of notes to self socks from my friend Erica. What a pick-me-up! I just love these affirmational socks. All you have to do is look at your feet and smile. There are so many different colors and options. Gift them to a friend and/or buy a pair for yourself.

Brooks Run Merry Revel 3 Holiday Shoes
How cute are these? You know you want them for your holiday races! I know I do!

Inknburn is bringing back old designs!
It's pretty exciting! Over the years, I've gotten so many compliments on my Inknburn Wildflower pullover and this warm, fleece-lined version is available again! You have to be patient, though because it's made-to-order. Inknburn doesn't make enough pullovers, IMHO. I hope they bring back a few more or (hint, hint) make some new ones. They also have made available several other popular designs--there's a buy 2-get-1-free crewneck special right now-- as well as some capris and leggings.

Running for Good: Chicken Soup for the Runner's Soul
I reviewed this inspirational book in June for Global Running Day. Co-authored by Dean Karnazes, this addition to the Chicken Soup lineup is chock full of inspiration! What a great gift for yourself or for the runner in your life. I keep mine on my nightstand and reach for it when I'm feeling the need for a little mental boost.

Airline gift cards
Do you love racecations as much as I do? Then you need to ask for airline gift cards. How do you think I travel so much? Almost all the major airlines except United offer gift cards. What's up with United?

Running shoe glass ornament
Sometimes my family makes me feel like Cinderella. One year my sister gifted me this ornament just to seal the deal. Glass slipper? It was such a wonderful surprise and I still love it.
White Paws Run Mitts
"Mittens invented for runners by a runner". I have not tried these yet, but they are on my Christmas list. While they don't offer touch screen connectivity, these mittens have something none of my other mittens have--warmth. It's like they know me or something. Guys, there's a pocket for hand warmers... hello? Some of the mittens they offer are water-resistant and reflective. Santa, are you listening?

Sole Healers
My favorite arch stretcher and plantar fasciitis defeeter (see what I did there) is on the list. Because runners need every tool available to keep PF at bay. Guys, I love these things. I reviewed Sole Healers March and I still like to put them under my feet when I'm doing standing yoga poses. Multitasking is my thing. Even if you don't have PF, you need these. Sole Healers help bring relief to your tired feet. Use the code WENDY to save 10%!
What's on your running wish list? Have you tried any of these items? Happy shopping!

  1. Those are all really fun gifts! I think about getting RunInk Designs for my 6 World Majors but then I never do. I agree the Aftershokz slip with a headband.

  2. So many great gift ideas. I want them all!! I ordered the shoes and should get them tomorrow. I read that they also provide good support for plantar fasciitis.

  3. I think I would go for the book Running for Good!
Isn't it funny that you never get running-related gifts? Haha! I think non-runners just can't imagine what it feels like to be a runner.
And I finally got Sherman from the library and started it! So good!

  4. I need to checkout RunInk...I have nine races I'd like to showcase, and you know I'm kind of an art geek ;-) Those mittens are pretty enticing as well...

  5. I tried the Whitepaws; not really a fan. They're super big (well, I also have very small hands) -- I actually prefer the convertible gloves/mittens, and I have many. I do still wear them, mostly when not running, LOL!

I've thought about one of the bluetooth hats/beanies. My iphone just doesn't keep a good bluetooth connection and I don't listen to music while I run anyway.

    The Brooks shoes are cute!

  6. This is such a great idea! I'm doing a holiday gift guide and will link up next week :)

I love the maps from RunInk. I have one for each of my marathons. Another thing I love getting runners every year is the Run 365 desk calendar from the GoneForARun website.

  21. You've got some great items on your list. I have that running shoe Christmas ornament! I got it at our MRTT gift exchange several years ago. :-)

Our friends own Cozyphones which is a similar concept to Rotibox. Their flat speakers are built into the cutest fleece headbands for kids. They've even teamed up with Nickelodeon and other brands kids love.
