Loving...Not Loving

Happy Valentine's Day! It's been a long time since I've done a loving..not loving post. I figured that there was no time better than the day of love...or not love, in some cases, to share what's been making me happy lately. My cup doesn't always runneth over with love, though...

Loving...I've been selling some InknBurn items, running shoes, and an unused milestone pod on eBay. I received my asking price on quite a few of the items. There are still items available.
Not Loving...the person who swooped in and offered me a low amount to buy everything. You know she was going to resell it.
Also not loving... Originally, I listed my items in a private INB group on Facebook but there were too many rules and it was hard to sell anything. So I looked at other websites. Poshmark charges 20% of the selling price to list your items. I finally settled on eBay because they take 10%, plus they provide discounted postal rates.

Loving...January was a good month for the blog. My posts had more views than I've seen in a while. I received a few nice messages from readers about content I published and that encourages me to keep writing.
Not Loving...Unfortunately, one of the reasons my blog views were up is because I have been getting more spam posts. Looking at Google Analytics shows a high bounce rate, which most likely means bots are hitting my blog like crazy.
Also not loving... the country with the second highest amount of viewers is...Pakistan? Pretty sure there aren't a lot of Pakistan women runners reading my blog. Even more sure that most of that traffic is from bots. Here's how I know that: those stolen posts? One of the thieves was based in Pakistan. Oh, and by the way, it's STILL HAPPENING.
Loving... our mild winter. Yes, today it's cold and yes, we have snow. A fresh 4 inches. It's winter in the Midwest and it's been delightful! I've run outside for almost all of my runs. That is something to love.
Not Loving... all the boo-birds who are complaining about winter this year. Hello, do you not remember the Polar Vortex of the past 2 winters?
Also not loving... that it was 65 degrees in Antarctica last weekend, smashing records. This is not a good thing.

Glass half full, right?
Loving... Taylor Swift's Miss Americana. Have you seen it on Netflix? I was never a fan of hers, but the biopic got such good reviews, I thought I'd check it out. I am so glad I did. I've changed my mind about Miss Swift. She's a smart, thoughtful, talented lady!
Not loving... the controversy over J Lo and Shakira's halftime show. Double standard much? What is wrong with 2 talented women performing? Oh, too sexual. Riiiggghhtttt...
Also not loving... outrage. Over everything these days. Everyone is offended. About everything. It's exhausting.

Loving... Feeling good and continuing to push myself both while running and at CrossFit. I'm continuing to watch my diet, eliminating as many inflammatory foods as I can.
Not loving... Trying to balance a healthy diet with my love for cheese and for wine. I don't overindulge in either but I know I need to reduce my intake.
Also not loving... having become 'that person' who passes on potlucks at work and has to bring my own food to family gatherings. Why is eating healthy so hard?

The struggle is real

What are you loving lately? Not loving? Any plans for Valentine's Day? Have you seen Miss Americana? Have you ever sold clothes online? If you're interested in any InknBurn, please feel free to PM me.

  1. We were just discussing the mild Winter. Mr. Judy pointed out that we've actually had a normal amount of snow. I point out that it also keep warming up & melting. Of course not today! At least it's not snowing (I was born in a snow storm).

    1. The bitter cold is a whole other animal! We haven't had much of that this winter but today is that day. I'm hoping it passes so I can get my long run in outside tomorrow.

  2. Ooh, I will be loving when I have time to check out Americana. Not loving how work won’t let up. Loving that people at work make it bearble.

  3. I have sold a bunch of stuff on Poshmark. You have just reminded me that I need to go through my closet again. Your inkburn tops would not fit me! I got a large in my most recent one but realized a medium would have worked oh well! I also have had higher blog views this month. I have really been working hard on it and I think it's a good time for fitness bloggers. I have heard good things about the Taylor Swift movie maybe I will check it out this weekend. Have a great Valentine's day!

  4. Definitely not loving that my long run will be on the TM tomorrow but loving that it will only be my 2nd indoor long run this winter and with any luck it could be my last indoor long run this winter. I really want to check out the TS doc.

  6. I'm loving that you and my other winter state friends have gotten a break from so much snow this season. As for me, I'm loving Schitt's Creek (yes I'm behind the times) and the fact that I've been getting back into knitting, finally.

    1. I loved Schitt's Creek and read yesterday that season 7 is the final season. It's sad. What a funny show!

  7. We have had a pretty hard winter for the area. I'm complaining because I'm laid up and can't take advantage of running in "cold" temps. Boo.

I haven't seen the Taylor Swift biopic. I don't love her, and I'm kind of TV'd out at this point. I DID love Cheer, though.

I loved the halftime show. I lived in Miami and South Florida for almost a decade, and I miss the dancing and music. There was nothing more fun than going out to salsa night at a club and just dancing the night away.

    1. I didn't think I'd love the Taylor Swift show--but it got such rave reviews that I figured I'd give it a try. I still don't love her music but I have a whole new respect for her.

  8. Haha! Wendy, I am with you on the kale/ale thing! :) Also perturbed about the pearl-clutchers on the Super Bowl halftime show. Give me a break! Eating healthy IS hard. I gave up added sugar about a year ago. EVERYTHING has sugar added. It's tough to eat out or eat with friends. I've been hosting more.

    1. I haven't given up anything in total because it's just too hard! Avoidance is much easier for me and when I do indulge in a trigger food, my body lets me know that it's unhappy!

  9. I'm loving that you keep on writing and are not intimated by the Spam-and-Blog-Stealing-Mafia in Pakistan. You will win this battle! There is such a big running community that needs you.

    1. You are too kind! It makes me feel alternately angry and helpless that creeps are out there trying to steal my stuff. Leave me alone, I say!

  10. I'm looking forward to seeing the Taylor Swift Netflix thing. I've always found her fascinating.
Glad you had some luck selling some things. I've tried in the past and thought it wasn't worth the effort.
Want to have a cheese and wine date? Sorry... I'm not good at giving it up either. lol :-)

    1. I've been really happy with my success selling some of my INB collection, but that stuff is really popular. I usually give away most everything else.

I'll have a cheese and wine date with you any time!

  11. I did see the Taylor Swift's Americana the week before last. Believe it or not that is the very first thing I ever watched on Netflix ( I don't watch much tv). I only knew about it because I heard it advertised on the radio. I have been loving her song "Only the Young".

This mild winter has been awesome! I just hope we don't get slammed with a bunch of snow in late March! -M

  12. I did not know you were selling INB gear?! I'll have to check out your listings - I usually keep an eye on Poshmark, but having tried selling myself.

That stinks that you're still dealing with blog stealing :( And, I'm so with you on not loving all the outrage over everything these days - enough already...

    1. I had so much INB! I think it was from when I was an ambassador. I just don't need all that. It feels good to purge!

  13. I've said it before and I will say it again but I love your blog posts. You are honest and don't take take anything like some other bloggers that get paid to blog. I am glad we are having a mild winter but I just simply hate the snow. Ugh!
